About 5 Elements Studio

Born in Madrid, España, 5 Elements Studio Founder & Director Gerardo Mulas has been an athlete for most of his life. Gerardo has combined Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Ginastica Natural, Mixed Martial Arts, Yoga, Animal Movements, Mobility, Calisthenics, and Somatic Studies, to provide his students, regardless of their age or physical abilities, with all the tools to live a healthy life, where self expression, excellence and a balanced mind and body are accomplished.

Gerardo has accumulated a large amount of experience in Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing competition.  Some of his recent accomplishments in Jiu-Jitsu competition are:

2019 IBJJF Dallas Open Gi- Silver Medalist- Black Belt Division

2019 IBJJF Dallas Open Nogi- Gold Medalist- Black Belt Division

He has trained many law enforcement students in close-quarter combat applications.  Additionally, he has held seminars and workshops both in the United States and Europe, sharing his knowledge in the martial arts, fitness and wellness with students from all over the world.

In his younger years, he was recruited all the way from Spain to be a student athlete at SMU, in Dallas, Texas. He was one of the members of the SMU tennis team.  Afterwards, he found his passion.  He embarked in serious studies and practice in the fields of Yoga& Movement, Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Kendo, kinesiology and nutrition. After decades of learning, refining, competing and always being hungry for further development, he has devoted his life to share his knowledge with others.

About Gerardo Mulas 

Gerardo received his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2018 from coral belt Carlos Machado after training extensively in this discipline with many experienced teachers both from the Gracie and the Fadda lineages. He has successfully competed in this discipline, winning his first NOGI competition as a black belt at the Dallas Open in 2019. He has learned and trained Jiu-Jitsu with the best athletes in the world in this craft. Gerardo has also trained extensively in the Art of Eight Limbs, also known as Muay Thai kickboxing, for several years, spending many weeks throughout several years in Thailand, the land of Muay Thai, learning from the best teachers around, including some grueling training in the jungles of Thailand.

Additionally, he studied Yoga and its healing methods since 2000.  He has gone to India and many other places throughout the world to learn and further refine his knowledge in this wonderful method for healing mind and body.  Moreover, he is a nutritionist and a free form movement expert; Gerardo skillfully merges multitude of martial arts as well as yogic and animal movements, to refine his students abilities to move, express themselves and heal. He is the coach for multitude of students, from Olimpian and professional athletes to overweight and special populations. Gerardo has been studying and sharing his knowledge for over 20 years producing thousands of happy and healthier people worldwide. He currently lives and runs 5 Elements Studio in Dallas, Texas
